PCA peel in Charlotte: What are my options? PCA peels are highly customizable, therefore once we analyze your skin, we are able to give you an idea of what your chemical peel treatment protocol will look like. Please note that PCA peels are meant to be used as a series, approximately 3 - 4 weeks apart. We do however, offer them by a single treatment, so that you can try before you purchase the series.
Glow and Go Micro Peel™ Need a complexion "pick me up"? Our Glow and Go Micro Peel™ is our most requested peel service and a non-invasive treatment that utilizes a novel approach to micro-peeling with the PCA Sensi Peel, combined with diamond tip microdermabrasion, which mechanically removes the top, dead layer of skin - to lift away dullness and give you back your glow! A PCA peel then removes the glue that holds the remaining dead skin cells together. This is a great way to get a more complete skin cell turnover. Little to no down time. It is recommended for all skin types, including acne-prone skin. Also contains Lactic, Azelaic, Kojic acid, and Arbutin. Minimum of three peels are recommended for optimal results.
PCA Peel Glow and Go Micro Peel ADVANCED Our Glow and Go specialty micro-peel ADVANCED is a progressive treatment that utilizes a novel approach to micro-peeling combined with microdermabrasion to lift away dullness and give you back your glow using the stronger PCA peels such as the Ultra Peel I and PCA Peel with Resorcinol. Medium to deep peel. Specially formulated to treat maturing and/or hyperpigmented skin, is also appropriate for many other skin types, conditions and sensitivities. It will help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while promoting an even skin tone and clear complexion. Skin consultation required, not for all skin types. Minimum of three peels are recommended for optimal results.
Sensi Peel by PCA Skin Light chemical peel. The Sensi Peel is a non-invasive very superficial treatment that utilizes a new approach to chemical peeling with a newer generation of alpha-hydroxy acids (lactic acid) in combination with TCA acid and commonly used peeling agents (salicylic acid) to maximize skin rejuvenation effects with low irritation. Key ingredients: TCA, Lactic Acid, Azelaic Acid, Arbutin, and Kojic Acid. It is recommended for sensitive, rosacea, and acne-prone skin and can be repeated every 2-4 weeks.
PCA Peel with Resorcinol Medium/Deep Peel
PCA Peel with Resorcinol is the most popular PCA peel that is appropriate for lighter skin tones. The most potent of our enhanced Jessner’s peel formulas, this peel will even skin tone and provide more exfoliation for oilier, thicker and more resilient skin types. It is extremely effective on sun-damaged and thickened skin. It is also excellent for those with active or cystic acne and asphyxiated skin (dry on the surface, oily underneath), or those who require deeper treatment. Key ingredients: Lactic Acid (14%) – is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) naturally found in milk and sugars. Salicylic Acid (14%) – is a calming lipophilic beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that helps promote a clear complexion. Kojic Acid (3%) – helps promote an even skin tone. Citric Acid – is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) naturally found in citrus fruits. Resorcinol – is a flaking agent.
PCA Ultra Peel I Medium to Deep Chemical Peel. For a more progressive approach, we recommend the Ultra Peel I from PCA Skin. This powerful yet non-damaging chemical peel can take years off aging skin. The PCA Ultra Peel I will help you erase the effect of time and is clinically proven to improve scarring, severe hyper-pigmentation/melasma and sun damage. Dramatic results are seen after a series of peel. Must be administered by a licensed esthetician or medical professional. Can be repeated every 4 weeks. Key ingredients: Lactic Acid (20%) – is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA). Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) (10%). Kojic Acid – helps to lighten hyperpigmentation. Azelaic Acid – helps promote a clear complexion and even skin tone. L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) – is the only bio-available form of vitamin C for the skin. It minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while promoting an even skin tone.
PCA Pure Retinol 6% Chemical Peel Revitalize dull, sluggish, stress and damaged skin. Retinol treatment creates mild occlusion to enhance the absorption of vitamins, antioxidants, and rich active ingredients into the skin for maximum benefits. This treatment is highly effective for: lifting pigmentation, reducing impaction in acne skin, and treating aging skin that has a naturally slow cell turnover cycle. Expect 5-10 days of peeling.
Through clinical studies it has been demonstrated that PCA peels can help you erase the effects of time. These peels are clinically proven to improve acne scarring, hyper-pigmentation/melasma and sun damage with 3-5 treatments.
Chemical peel - Can I add Microdermabrasion to this service at the same time as my peels? Yes you can! Just let us know when scheduling your appointment so that we may schedule the correct amount of time. You just pay the extra added cost for the peel, in addition to your microdermabrasion treatment.
Charlotte PCA Peel - What can I expect at my chemical peel appointment? The actual chemical peel treatment process takes less than 30 minutes. You can expect a mild tingling or feeling of warmth to the skin for a few minutes when the chemical peel is applied. After treatment, we apply a physical sunblock with an SPF of 30, to protect skin. Your facial skin will be pink upon completion of the peel. .
Chemical Peel aftercare: What are my limitations to what I can do after a PCA peel? Please refrain working out/getting overheated and from tanning the area. An SPF 30 or more containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide must be used when going outdoors or driving. Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, or saunas for a few days after your chemical peel. Do not pick or pull at the skin, as this may cause scarring. Avoid working out for a few days, as this my overheat facial skin. Please call our office if you experience excessive redness, burning, or itching.
PCA Peels in Charlotte covered by insurance? No, chemical peels are considered elective and are not covered by insurance.
Do PCA Peels help acne? Are chemical peels safe if I have a medical condition such as acne? Yes, they are great for acne prone skin, with/without acne present. The Sensi peel has shown to be very beneficial for clearing acne and smoothing the appearance of pores.
Can I receive a PCA Peel if I am pregnant or breast feeding? Chemical peels are contraindicated for pregnant or breast feeding clients per the manufacturer. Therefore, we do not perform this treatment on pregnant or breast feeding clients.
PCA Peels: What are the side effects?
The treatment process is non-invasive. Most patients experience side effects such as a mild, temporary irritation and pinkness to the skin. It is possible for one to be allergic to ingredients in the chemical peel. If you are allergic or sensitive to glycolic or alpha hydroxy acid, please share this with your esthetician prior to treatment. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, a chemical peel should not be used.
Can I do chemical peels multiple times? And how soon after my last PCA peel can I do a second one? Yes, with additional treatments you can expect to see improved results. It is recommended that a series of 3-6 chemical peels be done, approximately three to four weeks apart.
